Breakers Club Board of Directors Roles and Responsibilities

 

The number of directors of the Breakers Club shall be no less than five (5) nor more than fifteen (15). Directors shall be paying members of the Breakers Club. The President, Vice President, Secretary, and CFO/Treasurer are required to be members of the board.

 

President

The President is the general manager and chief executive officer of the Breakers Club and, subject to the control of the board of directors, shall be responsible for the general supervision, direction, and control of the business and officers of the Breakers Club. The President shall preside at all meetings of the board of directors.

Vice President

The Vice President, in the absence or disability of the President, can perform all the duties of the President and, when so acting, shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions upon, the President. The Vice Presidents other duties include maintenance of the website.

 

Secretary

The Secretary maintains a book of minutes of all meetings of the board and its committees. Duties include, but are not limited to, taking minutes, insures the original or a copy of the Breakers Club's Articles and Bylaws at the principal office in the State of California, gives notice of all meetings of the board and its committees and keeps the seal of the Breakers Club in safe custody, and shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the board.

 

CFO/Treasurer

The Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer maintains, adequate and correct books and accounts of the properties and business transactions of the Breakers Club. Duties include, but are not limited to, supplying financial statements and reports at each board meeting. deposits all money and other valuables of the Breakers Club, disburses funds of the Breakers Club as ordered by the board, and communicates with the board, whenever requested, an account of all transactions of the financial condition of the Breakers Club, communicates with the CPA and shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the board.

Director - Concessions 1

The Concessions 1 Director oversees the concessions during the Fall Season. Duties include, but are not limited to, food and supply inventory, ordering, communicate to the bord concession needs and provides support for Concession 2 Director.

 

Director - Concessions 2 - OPEN POSITION

The Concessions 2 Director oversees the concessions during the Winter/Spring Season. Duties include, but are not limited to, food and supply inventory, ordering, communicate to the bord concession needs and provides support for Concession 1 Director.

 

Director – Apparel/Merchandise

The Apparel/Merchandise Director oversees the inventory, sales and budget related to Breakers Club store items. Duties include, but are not limited to, vendor communications, maintain website continuity, Square store item updates, and communicates with board regarding merchandise changes and updates.

Director – Membership

The Membership Director is responsible for the growth of the Breakers Club membership. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing opportunities to recruit new members, coordinate with the school on parent/student events to facilitate member recruitment, specifically the roundup and sportsmanship nights, create flyers for these events and maintain a membership list for communications.

 

Director – Volunteers

The Volunteer Director is responsible for recruitment of volunteers for Breakers Club events and concessions. Duties include, but are not limited to, creating sign-up genius postings, distribution of postings to the school for email blasts and communications, maintaining a school sports calendar for the Breakers Club, and provide proper student volunteer sheets for community service hours.

 

Director - Shoe Dance - OPEN POSITION

The Shoe Dance Director is responsible for the Breakers Club main fundraising event held in November. Duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating venue, theme, acquisition of auction items, entertainment, menu and volunteers.

 

Director - Facility/Maintenance - OPEN POSITION

The Facility/Maintenance Director is responsible the Breakers Club’s equipment and facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting and maintaining refrigerators, freezers, various food and beverage machines, BBQs, fryers, the football concessions building and gated area, gym and varsity baseball snack shacks.
